Securing your Home doesn’t have to cost a fortune, there are many products that can be easily fitted to increase your Security even when you are working within a tight budget, a Dummy Alarm Siren fits perfectly into this category.
Dummy Siren:
We would always recommend fitting a Dummy Siren to your existing Alarm System (if you don’t already have one), or if have no Alarm then we would still recommend you consider the use of at least one, preferably two and even three on corner plots.
If you are adding a Dummy Siren to an existing Alarm System please try to ensure that the Dummy Siren you purchase matches your existing working Siren, if you are just installing Dummy Sirens please ensure these match a real working Siren from any type of Alarm System, you don’t want a potential Intruder to be able to Google your Siren only to find it available as a Dummy.
Dummy Sirens are also a very effective temporary & quick Security solution, which can also be taken with you when you move property.
Tools Required:
- Suitable Ladder (follow standard safety rules when using).
- Drill.
- Drill Piece, Wall Plugs & Screws.
- Screwdriver.
- 20 minutes spare time.
Where to Fit:
Shown below are examples of where we would recommend Sirens or Dummy Sirens to be fitted, the basic criteria is:
- Visible to Pedestrians & Vehicles passing bye (from all possible directions).
- Located in a high location (out of reach & visible).
- In a location that is safe for Installation (when using a ladder).
- If the Dummy Siren needs replacement batteries in the future, ensure the location can be reached safely by ladder.
- If you are using a replica Solar Dummy Siren, ensure it is not hidden under the eaves (as a working solar siren would be slightly lower down to catch the available daylight).
- Most importantly, fit the Dummy Siren in a location that would be normal for most alarm installations, by fitting it in inappropriate location (such as very low and within reach) it will stand out as an obviously false installation.
Bungalows:
Bungalows and other low types of buildings are far harder to find a suitable location for a Siren or Dummy Siren, the only advice would be to try to fit them as far out of reach as possible, some examples are shown below:
Garages & Sheds:
These buildings are even harder to try to find a suitable location for a Siren or Dummy Siren, if the building has an Apex roof, then this would be the obvious location, but one of the best ways when using a Wireless Siren would be to locate it onto a nearby building (house, garage or other workshop), obviously this principle would be replicated when fitting a Dummy Siren.
Where To Purchase:
There is a multitude of retailers that will supply a Dummy Siren, please ensure that the one you choose is a replica to a working Siren.
Summary:
You will notice throughout this article that the reference to a real working Siren is just as common to that of the Dummy Siren, this is no coincidence as working out the location for a Dummy Siren should be exactly the same process to working out where you would fit a real one. Should you need further advice contact ultrasecuredirect who would be happy to give you advice and would be able to supply you with a suitable product.
