A lock down alarm is a security alert system used in schools, businesses, or public places to signal that an immediate threat, such as an intruder or dangerous situation which requires the building to be immediately secured. When the alarm sounds, everyone is typically instructed to stay inside, lock doors, and follow safety procedures to prevent anyone from entering or leaving the premises until the danger is resolved. It helps ensure safety by minimising movement and exposure to potential risks. Ultra Secure specialises in wireless lockdown alarms, making installation faster and more cost-effective.

What is a test kit?

Ultra Secure's wireless lock down alarms are designed to make installation quicker and more affordable. However, choosing the right wireless technology is crucial to ensure it operates efficiently across your site.

Popular Wireless Lockdown Alarm Options

We offer a variety of wireless lockdown alarms, including two popular long-distance options: the Protect-800 (V-Range and DA-600 (S-Range). Each system has unique benefits and range capabilities:

  • Protect-800 (V-Range): With a line-of-sight range of 800 metres, it typically covers 400-500 metres in most environments.
  • DA-600 (S-Range): Offering a line-of-sight range of 900 metres, in most applications it covers 500-700 metres, but can be extended by adding signal repeaters.

Choosing the Right Lockdown Alarm System

We understand that selecting the best lockdown alarm for your site can be daunting. That’s why we recommend using a test kit to ensure the chosen panic buttons will communicate effectively with all siren and strobe assemblies.

The S range test kit also comes with a signal repeater, allowing you to test the system without and then with the repeater to identify any dead spots.
